Ability to move the Ore Detector
Having to rebuild the ore detector just to scan from different sides of the open area underground is a waste, as is trying to scan across the open area of the base to get to the other side. It would be better if this building was either mobile, or the ability to move a building to easily

XaosOr better yet, Allow the scanner to scan anywhere (any distance away) on the underground map. This building only has one job. Not sure why it is restricted the way it is.

TMIt could even move slowly as some kind of drone that needs relocating. Then player would need to prioritise which part of map needs to be scanned first.

RMA nice touch for this would be the current Ore detector building as some form of base station for a mobile unit with a battery.

The station can than be used for some close ranged scanning (as it can do now) and as the charging station for (a more expensive) the mobile scanning unit. -

Stephen BrownIt would be better if the scanning unit was more automated. You place it, and it would detect ores over time in a larger and larger range. So you place it in the middle of your base and it detects everything within say 20 spaces immediately, then grows by 1 space per game hour or day or something.
Once there long enough it would have scanned everything under ground.
The interaction with it is currently terrible anyway, and manual interaction with something built and maintained by autonomous drones seem counter-productive. -

EllriHow about a function to give the ore detector two modes?
- Scan mode, which requires grid connection.
- Move mode, where it is disconnected and can (slowly) move on wheels or legs to a new location.
If it runs out of power in move mode, it needs to be connected to the grid to charge up, of course.
